New Book Horse Harmony: Understanding Horse Types & Temperaments Helps Riders Find Perfect Horse Partners

Have you ever wondered what the perfect horse would be like?

Have you ever wished you could really understand the horse you have on a deeper level?

Would you love to find a horse who is better suited for your needs and personality?

The new book Horse Harmony: Understanding Horse Types & Temperaments by Dr. Madalyn Ward, D.V.M. begins by asking horse enthusiast these questions, and then proceeds to assist riders through the process of pinpointing a horse’s personality type to determine which type is the best match for them.

An acclaimed author and alternative healing methods expert, Ward gives readers a fresh—and useful—look at the art of choosing the right equine partner by applying the Five-Element approach used in Traditional Chinese Medicine.

The Five-Element approach is based upon the idea that each human and animal has a “constitutional type.” Those types are Fire, Earth, Metal, Water, and Wood, and every being exhibits certain physical and emotional traits that are specific to his or her type.

Ward teaches owners how to investigate a horse’s type by evaluating such things as the animal’s preferred climate and season, as well as its range of emotions and the environment in which it was raised. For example, an Earth horse might be negatively affected by a damp climate and a Water horse may be calm and confident when with trusted handlers, but panicky and impulsive when handled poorly.

Horse Harmony: Understanding Horse Types & Temperaments is perfect for any horse enthusiast who has ever wanted to improve a relationship with a horse—or for those who are still searching for that perfect equine partner. After all, the gift of being able to determine and understand why a horse behaves the way it does is the first step to having an overall healthy, safe and enjoyable relationship with it.
