The Heat Seekers holds a very special place in my heart because it deals with issues that I felt needed to be explored. The number of households headed by single women is steadily increasing as men continue to make babies and then run away from their responsibilities. I wanted to write a novel that tackled the subject head on, but it was important to show that while some men are immature and trifling, there are others that do stand up and act like real men.
I selected The Heat Seekers as the title because, ultimately, what everyone is looking for in a mate is "heat": A person who has the ability to make their toes curl in bed, a person that can ignite a passion in them on a daily basis, and a person that truly loves them unconditionally. I make a wish that everyone who reads The Heat Seekers walks away with a few things to ponder, a few things to laugh about, and a few things to discuss out loud with friends and family.
