Dear Reader,

When I first “met” Angela Russo, the main character in The Way Life Should Be, I loved her immediately—after all, this lady has a magazine picture of a cottage on the coast of Maine stuck to the bulletin board in her bustling New York City office. How many of us daydream about that life we think we’ll never have, after all? More importantly, how many take a chance and follow that dream? Angela does, with surprising results. She subscribes to an online dating service and connects with an intriguing suitor from the Maine coast. When she suddenly loses her job, she packs up her car and follows her heart northward. But we all know, life is no fairy tale…her prince turns out to be a toad, and a winter in Maine is nothing like that picture on her bulletin board. But just when things look their worst, the best comes out in Angela…she rents a tiny cabin and turns it into a homey nest, adopts a loveable dog-in-need and turns to her innate talent for Italian cooking, passed down from her grandmother. It isn’t easy sailing, and tough choices come up when the toad wants a second chance and then a family crisis calls Angela home. But her new friends see her through the bad times, and an unexpected chance at love may make things right in the end, just the way they should be….

Happy reading!
Jennifer
